The buckling-restrained brace is a technology developed and made practical in the late 1980s

by Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering Co.,Ltd. in Japan. Subsequently, based on our mission and

recognition of ourselves as "an essential entity that continues to contribute to society," we promoted the

improvement of seismic resilience by popularizing the buckling-restrained brace in seismically prone

regions around the world. In the US, we realized the first application in 1999. Through unstinting technical

co-operation and know-how provision, the buckling-restrained brace became widely adopted in structures

              as a universal technology.

Our company, established in 2011 as the US affiliate of Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering

Co.,Ltd. will continue to contribute to the improvement of earthquake-proof safety for the sake of society

by spreading the buckling-restrained brace.
